Park Facilities

Is the car allowed at the accommodation/camping site?

Yes, each accommodation has a parking space for a maximum of 1 car. At the family bungalows, a maximum of 3 cars may be parked per accommodation. Also at a camping site a maximum of 1 car may be parked if space is available. Other vehicles should be parked in the central parking lot at the entrance to the park.

Are energy costs included?

Yes. Energy consumption (gas and electricity) is included with rental accommodations and camping sites. Seasonal and annual pitches excluded.

Can we also buy a vacation home/chalet?

Vacation homes are not for sale, however, are chalets/stand caravans for sale.

Are hoverboards/electric scooters allowed at the park?

Due to safety regulations at our park, both sitting and standing hoverboards are not allowed, also riding an electric scooter is not allowed. This is due to poor visibility and speed. Only the use of electric bicycles and mobility scooters for the disabled is allowed at our park.

Is there a parking fee?

Parking is free, per accommodation/camping site max. 1 car is allowed. At the Family Houses max. 3 cars are allowed. Other cars can be parked in the central parking lot near the reception.

Can bowling be played at Vakantiepark Witterzomer?

Yes, you can bowl on one of the four lanes in Skik's basement. More information and prices can be found here.

Is there any way to use the Internet?

The Holiday Park has (paid) wireless Internet. At the reception you can buy a login code, this code is for 2 or 4 devices at the same time.

There are some camping sites where there is no coverage. When booking online you can see if there is coverage on each camping site, or you can contact the reception desk at 0592-393535.

House Rules

Is barbecue allowed at the park?

Yes, this is allowed as long as it is a raised barbecue, it is not an open fire and the other guests are not bothered by smell/smoke.

Are towels and kitchen towels included in the reservation?

No, you can add these to the reservation. This can be done when making the reservation or in My Witterzomer

Is it possible to come swimming if one is not a guest at Vakantiepark Witterzomer?

Unfortunately, this is not allowed; we do not offer day recreation.

Are dogs allowed in the accommodation?

In some vacation homes and family bungalows it is allowed to bring a dog (maximum 2 per accommodation) against payment. You must indicate this when making the reservation. You pay € 4.25 per dog per night and an additional cleaning fee of € 17.50 per stay.

Should friends or family visiting pay?

People who come to visit are welcome in our park, we apply a visitor fee. All visitors must check in at the reception desk before entering the park. 

Accommodations & Camping

Are cleaning fees mandatory for the group accommodation?

For the 20-person Family Houses you can do the cleaning yourself or have it done, costs are €180.00. For the 16-person Family Houses Comfort the final cleaning is mandatory to book.

Is there a fireplace in the family homes?

The family houses have a fireplace, you must leave it clean after use. There is no firewood available, you can bring your own.

Are the beds made on arrival?

No. You can have the beds made in the cottage or chalet for €7 per bed. You can add this to the reservation via My Witterzomer

Is there bedding in the family house?

  • In the 20-person Family House there is a pillow and comforter for each bed. A comforter set can be rented for €9,00 per set.
  • In the 16-person Family House Comfort it is obligatory to rent comforter sets. For each booking you pay €9.00 per person per comforter set.

Are bed linen included in the rental price of the vacation homes/chalets?

You do not need to bring your own bedding, with each booking you pay a mandatory €9.00 per person per comforter set.

Are there smoke-free chalets and vacation rentals?

Yes, all accommodations at Vakantiepark Witterzomer are non-smoking.

Are there vacation homes for the disabled?

Yes, one vacation home (Type C6) has been made suitable for disabled persons. You can indicate this preference when making the reservation.

Unfortunately, our chalets are not suitable for disabled persons.

Are there vacation homes for the disabled?

Are there furnaces in the vacation homes?

No, however, the vacation homes are equipped with microwave ovens. In the Comfort Chalets, Veranda Chalets, Holiday Homes Luxe and Family Bungalow Comfort there are combi microwaves.

Extras & rentals

I rented a crib, do those include sheets and/or comforter?

No, sheets and comforter for a crib are not included. You need to bring this yourself.

Are there any Seasonal sites at your park?

Yes, there are seasonal pitches at our park. So you can choose from a pre-season, full season (late March to late September) and a post-season. If you would like more information about this, please contact the reception desk 0592-393535.

All our seasonal pitches have 6 ampere electricity and a TV connection. 

Do you also have hiking and biking trails?

Yes, we sell special walking and cycling maps and routes, also there is a special environment map and junction map for sale at the reception. We also have free routes at the reception.

Payments & Reservations

When do I have to pay?

After making the reservation you will receive a confirmation by mail or email. You will receive no further notification of your payments. Here you will find an overview of payment terms.

What are preferred charges?

You have expressed a preference for a vacation home/chalet, a particular facility or a particular area. You pay €24.50 for that and you are then guaranteed to get that particular vacation home or chalet with your specific preference.

For camping sites, you do not have to pay a preference fee.

Can I book cancellation insurance?

Yes, you can book this right at the time of booking. The cost is 5.5% of the total travel sum + €6.00 policy fee. This can be added up to 24 hours after making the reservation. You can find all the conditions here

Tourist tax, does it also apply to babies?

No, it applies to children as young as 1 year old.

Can I also check in/arrive earlier?

In consultation we can see if earlier check-in is possible.

If the accommodation or camping site is not ready yet, you can of course already use the facilities at the park. 

I arrive late when the reception is already closed. Can I enter my accommodation then?

If you arrive after closing time of the reception, please let us know in advance. In most cases this is not a problem and we will tell you how to get to your camping site/accommodation. 

Please note that the gates are closed from 22:00 to 07:30. If you arrive during this time you must walk to your accommodation/camping site. 

I want to leave very early on departure day/I want to leave late the night before departure day. What do I do with the key?

You can deposit the key in the yellow newspaper bin by the door of the reception desk.

I am coming to the vacation park with two or more vehicles. What now?

If you are coming with several cars, the extra cars can go through the barriers on the day of arrival and the day of departure to load and unload things. At the reception you can get a temporary code to open the barriers. Then the extra cars can be parked in the parking lot near the reception. 

Accessibility & surroundings

Is Vakantiepark Witterzomer accessible by public transportation?

At the moment there is no direct connection to Vakantiepark Witterzomer. However, you can take public transport to Assen station. From here you can take a cab or OV-bike to the vacation park. The address is Witterzomer 7, 9405 VE Assen.

Park Facilities

Is there a laundry facility?

Yes, there is a laundromat at the park. A laundry token costs €6 (automatic soap dispensing) and a dryer token costs €2.50. Tokens are available at reception or supermarket.
